UF0-3439 UV FLEXO SOFT VELVET TOUCH COATING

Velvet coatings create a matte surface that feels soft to the touch. It can feel like soft fiber or like leather. These are available for a wide variety of substrates but are most commonly used on paper. The feel of these coatings can be very subjective. Therefore, it is important to test the effect on the correct substrate and obtain customer approval before the live run.

Application thickness is dependent on substrate absorption. For a nonabsorbent substrate, such as polyester film, less application is needed than on paper or board. For film, the use of 8 to 12 BCM and a hard, sticky-back tape on the printing plate will give a smooth, soft surface. For paper, 10 to 15 BCM is recommended.
